We have officially closed our doors almost a year ago, but I see we still have many visitors. I am enabling most of the content for reference purposes. From time to time we will have babies availible, but we only have three pairs breeding at this time. We will not be doing many updates to the rest of the site anymore. If you wish to have your avian related publications featured or mirrored on our site please drop us a line. Thank You for visiting! This Months Article: |
We currently breed 10 different species of parrots and have been breeding for about 8-9 years now. We are a husband and wife team, and both share the responsibilities of caring for all of our breeders, babies, and pets. I, Yvonne, have owned, bred, and handfed all types of parrots and softbills (various finches, doves, hornbills, pigeons, and even a robin) my entire life. My husband, Corey, has been into birds for about 3-4 years now. My first bird was a blue budgie that my grandmother had bought for me, and from there, I maintained an interest in pet birds, and started keeping several different species of birds. The first time we had baby birds, it was an accident, some of my pet birds had babies and it was a complete surprise. But the cute babies and the way the parents cared for them fascinated me, and I decided to continue breeding. Back then I also made my own homemade baby formula, and I learned to trim wings, toenails, and beaks on my own. Later on I asked an vet and a professional groomer to teach me how to do the trims, and it turned out their methods were no different from what I had already been doing, and I also discovered that bird food companies also made commercial baby formulas. A lot has changed over the years, but our love of birds and hand rearing babies has remained!
Time to meet our pets!

Poopy is a two and a half year old pearl cockatiel. She is the absolute sweetest bird on this earth! She is great with strangers, but mom is always her favorite. Poopy chose me back when she was just weaned; I got her from a bird shop that I used to work at. Poopy was always the cute little baby that was always so eager to see me, and would jump on me every time I went to feed her and her clutch mates, and she never wanted me to leave, so of course I had to take her home with me. Poopy is the most perfect bird you could ask for. She goes on car rides with us, to local stores, she travels with us when we go out of town, and she’s the most easy-going, laid back bird. Her antics and funny personality always have us laughing, and friends and strangers always adore her, I don’t blame them! On the flip side, she does do her fair share of troublemaking. She LOVES to chew off the keys of laptop keyboards; she chews on books and important papers, and she lives up to her name by pooping on everything. But a cute, smart little bird like her knows how to wiggle her way out of getting in trouble, she knows that spreading her pretty wings out gets her head rubs, and she also knows that giving mom kisses makes everything better!
